Overview

PURPOSE

The Industrial Segment Director will drive the development of LafargeHolcim’s value proposition for the segment.  Their key objective is to ensure that LafargeHolcim captures a disproportionate & profitable share of growth opportunities in that segment.  They will therefore develop a deep knowledge of the segment needs & identify opportunities for LafargeHolcim to profitably distinguish itself.  They will understand LafargeHolcim’s current capabilities and help remove internal operational roadblocks to capture the profitable growth.

 

This position is located in the LafargeHolcim US Headquarters, located in Chicago, near the O'Hare area.  

 

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Industrial Segment leader is expected to develop solutions and new business opportunities that push and enable the product lines to achieve or exceed the business ambitions
  • The role requires a strong skill-set in Industrial Marketing and Business Development competencies
  • Leverage your understanding of the key customers channels and market trends to identify new products/offers and value propositions for LafargeHolcim to bring to market is critical to success
  • Disseminate general knowledge and best practices across the sales organization within the product lines (e.g., training, internal and external communication, branding of offers).
  • Foster and animate informal network of sales specialists within the traditional product line sales organizations to best capture the segment opportunities in the local geographic area
  • In close collaboration with the commercial and operational mgt, development of objectives, KPIs (e.g., virtual segment P&Ls)
  • Develop and provide a platform for direct reports to learn, grow, and advance their careers

 

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

  • Works closely with Product Line Leaders and teams
  • Builds strong relationships with regional sales management.
  • Works closely with other functional leads to understand operational constraints and effectively address them  (e.g., Manufacturing, Logistics) 

 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education Required:  Bachelor's/University Degree

Additional Education Preferred:  Master's/Graduate Degree

Preferred field of study:  Marketing / Strategy / Sales

Work Experience Required:  10-15 years relevant experience

Travel Requirements:  35% National Travel

Computer and Software Skills:  Strong in Excel and in PPT
